If security now gone? FBI cracks iPhone without Apple

The FBI claims to have now succeeded in the iPhone 5c of the assassin of San Bernardino, even without Apple's help to crack. The authorities wanted the Group previously judicially compel to crack the iPhone. This is now no longer seems necessary.

In the attack in San Bernardino in December 2015, 14 people were killed by the Islamist attackers Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik. From the iPhone by Farook the authorities are hoping for further information about the background of the act of terrorism and potential supporters. Apple but had the suggestion of the FBI refused to program access. This would also make any other Apple device vulnerable. This is now no longer necessary, because the FBI has managed even without

Apple, reports USA Today. First, it had to go out as if the iPhone uncrackable.

FBI had turned a court against Apple

In order to enforce its claims, the FBI had turned a dish that would force Apple to program an access to the data of the iPhone. Now the US federal police but their judicial trials stopped and withdrawn the request. As the FBI succeeded the Apple device to crack, is not yet known. Apparently, the law enforcers have one or more companies tasked to break through the encryption of the iPhone.

In a statement, Apple said that it never a trial should have given. "We will continue to support law enforcement agencies in their investigations, as we have hitherto always done. And we will also increase the safety of our products, because the threats and attacks on our data continues to grow and be refined." Apple also calls for a national debate on civil liberties and the common security and privacy. Google about had already made in this context behind Apple, but the majority of US citizens were more likely on the part of the FBI.

Currently there are about a dozen similar cases in the US Open, where the authorities require access to the data on a smartphone. In the case of Apple, it has now been apparently a solution without the manufacturer was obliged to provide a backdoor into the safety of his equipment. How the proceeds in other cases, is still completely open. Apple at least now wants to find out how it is the FBI managed to get to the data - to plug this security gap.
