Sonos Playbase

With the Playbase, Sonos has now officially introduced a new Soundbase. Unlike a Soundbar like the Sonos Playbar, a Soundbase is not in front of the TV, but the TV is on the Soundbase. In addition, the bass reproduction of soundbases is usually better than that of soundbars. The Playbase can be wirelessly connected to the Sonos Sub subwoofer and two Sonos Play: 1 speakers to a 5.1 system. It also has six mid-range, three high and one low-frequency drivers.

Supported by Amazon Alexa

The Playbase can be configured with the Sonos Trueplay app, so that it can be inserted acoustically into the rest of the sound system. Over 80 music services are supported by the speaker, including Apple Music and Spotify. This way you can play music with the Playbase, even if the TV is switched off. Later in the year, Sonos will complement the support of the language assistant Amazon Alexa, which means that the speaker will be controlled by an Alexa device like Amazon Echo.

Available from April 4th for 800 euros

The Playbase can be set up via an optical input and the power supply, more cables are not needed according to Sonos. Sonos has also already voiced for price and release. The WLAN loudspeaker is to come from April 4 in the colors black and white for a price of 800 euros on the market.
