Samsung released its own Internet browser in the Play Store

Samsung offers its own Internet browser for smartphones for the first time for free download in the Google Play Store. However, the app is not compatible with all Android devices.
Samsung released its own Internet browser in the Play Store

Samsung's browser proprietary is now available in the Google Play Store for free download. However, the app does not run on all Android smartphones: According to the manufacturer, a Samsung Galaxy device or a Google Nexus with at least Android 5.0 Lollipop is needed. Whether or not other Android devices will be supported in the future, is still unknown. In addition, the app Samsung Internet is officially still in the beta phase. This gives users quick access to new features, but also have to live with possible instabilities and errors.

Samsung browser runs on the same basic framework as Google Chrome

Samsung Internet is based on chromium, which is also the basic framework for Google's own Chrome browser. Although the app is still in the beta phase, it already offers some interesting features. Thus, the Samsung browser supports 360-degree video - handy for use with a Gear VR. In addition, the app has a picture-in-picture mode, Disconnect.me content blocker, DuckDuckGo as an alternative search engine, a video assistant with multiple viewing modes, and web payment support.
