Retired Windows 10 Mobile update for problems

Microsoft has released the first major update for Windows Mobile 10 retired on the Lumia 950 and 950 XL surprisingly again. Reason are obviously issues that increasingly occurred in updating the smartphones.

The launch of Windows Mobile 10 runs less smoothly than apparently intended for Microsoft. After last week a first update with the version number 10586.29 for smartphones Lumia 950 and 950 XL was delivered, it now had to be withdrawn. Reason are obviously problems that have occurred during the update process itself, as confirmed in the support forum of Microsoft.

Update ensures error messages
So many owners of Lumia 950 and 950 XL apparently had problems to install the update on their devices. For many users the update status stopped at zero percent, while others were given indicates that too little space is available on their devices. In addition, there would have been many devices on which the update was not even offered.

Given the massive problems Microsoft has now once pulled the emergency brake and withdrawn the update again. "The team is working on fixes and enhancements for the upgrade experience, short-term and for future releases. In the meantime we have the 10586.29 update for Windows from our public update servers 10 Mobile," said Board Moderator Mike Morgenau.

It is still unclear when the update returns
Exactly when the update should be offered again, is not yet known. Similarly, given the problems still unclear when Windows is to appear 10 Mobile for older Lumia devices. Actually, Microsoft had planned to fix the software version 10586.29 numerous known bugs of Windows 10 Mobile.
