Samsung Galaxy S8 is supposed to dominate face recognition

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is not only to be equipped with an iris scanner, but also to recognize facial recognition. This is to ensure reliable and fast biometric authentication - in less than 0.01 seconds.

Samsung wants to spend his Galaxy S8 a face recognition, reported SamMobile with reference to The Investor. While the fingerprint sensor will in the future be placed far less prominently on the back of the smartphone, the iris scanner is likely to play a key role in identifying the owner. But the South Koreans do not want to leave alone. Because: The Galaxy S8 should also have a face recognition integrated. The biometric authentication is to become safer and, above all, faster. The system should take just less than 0.01 seconds to identify the face - as opposed to the slightly slower iris scanner.

Galaxy S8: Faster identification by facial recognition

Due to some limitations of the iris scanner in terms of speed and accuracy, one has decided to "add a face detection to the Galaxy S8," quotes The Investor, a Samsung official. Whether the upcoming product launch of the iPhone 8 could have favored the manufacturer's decision remains unclear. At the very least, however, it had probably fallen within the timeframe, in which more speculation about the integration of a face recognition technology for the iPhone 8 was speculated.

Sure, on March 29th, Samsung wants to present its new smartphone flagship in New York. The release is said to be latest rumors, however, only at the end of April, after having been anticipated with an appearance in the middle of April.
