Meanwhile, the program is no longer available, the possibly premature release of the app, however, revealed some information about the Navi application. So indoor Survey combines the Location apparently high frequencies and signals from the onboard sensors of the iPhone.
Indoor Survey: radio frequencies plus iPhone data
In the app description of indoor Survey says according to the report. "By putting points on a map in the Survey application, you mark your position within a resort, while passing're running While you do that, measures the Survey App high frequencies and combines it with the sensor data of the iPhone. " As AppleInsider speculated that development of the app could be related to the purchase of indoor Navi Company WiFiSLAM that Apple had acquired in 2013 for 20 million US dollars.
Google has for its mapping service Google Maps unlocked an indoor navigation a long time ago. However, the feature works only in selected buildings, for example, the Munich Airport. One problem for Google's solution is the GPS signal, which is often unavailable in buildings. Apple has with the indoor Survey app now may find an alternative route, the works without GPS. When the final application is published, however, is not known.
