PS4 downward compatible PS2 emulator for non Discs

Just recently it was announced that PS2 titles will be playable with an emulator on the PS4 soon. With old games on discs which is but apparently not working.

Sony confirmed in late November that the PlayStation 4 may soon emulate old games the PlayStation 2 and thus in some way is backward compatible. As IGN now reports the PS4 emulator but will not work with old PS2 discs or already downloaded PS2 Classics. Instead, the old PS2 games for the PS4 probably have to download from the PlayStation Network again.

Gameplay video of PS2 titles "Dark Cloud" leaked
On Thursday Sony had already published with PS4 emulation on YouTube, according to diverse messages on Twitter last minute trailer for the old PS2 classics "Dark Cloud". Shortly thereafter, the clip was removed but again - the reason is unclear. Resourceful Internet users but of course immediately made and circulated screenshots from the video. In the video description for the "Dark Cloud" trailer, inter alia, 1080p upscaling of the old PS2 title is mentioned. In addition, gamers can also win trophies in the Game of 2000 now. PS4 features like Share Play or Remote Play are also supported.

Sony had the backward compatibility of the PS4 for old PS2 games a few days ago introduced more or less secretly - perhaps also because the feature is still in the testing phase. Rival Microsoft on the other hand pointed out in the past few weeks at every opportunity to the new backward compatibility of the Xbox One, which can now play many old Xbox 360 games.
